A reminder of our cause
A group of women from all over the world, brought together originally because they are fans of Sean Bean, have produced a themed cookery book. It includes Sharpe facts and health insights, as well as exciting recipes, all donated, tested and photographed by the contributors themselves. This means that it really is ‘what you see is what you get’, as none of us had access to the photographers tricks frequently associated with food photography.
All royalties from the sale of the book will go the National Osteoporosis Society.
You can order it here from the publisher, Pickard Communication, giving the maximum contribution from sales to the charity.
You can also (in the UK) buy the book in any branch of Waterstones - if they don’t have it in stock, ask and they can order it for you. Although the book shows up on Amazon, it’s only available if you are prepared to wait.
Just under 2000 copies have already been sold, providing over £4000 for the charity.
The book is still available and shortly to be joined by a companion – ‘Sharpe Chefs II – On Campaign’, for the benefit of the charity Children with Leukemia, chosen by Sharpe author Bernard Cornwell, who is generously supporting us a second time. Our old friends from the Chosen Men are with us again, including Daragh O’Malley (Sgt Harper), Jason Salkey (Rifleman Harris) and Lyndon Davies (Rifleman Perkins), plus others from the cast who will be sharing their most loved recipes for the first time.

Can’t wait for this new edition. If it’s as successful as the first, then the new charity will be well pleased! Hope there are some more photos of our hero, as well as lots of delicious recipes, of course!
