A handful of international Sharpe Chefs, a smattering of our Chosen Men and the protection of the 95th (Rifle) Regiment of Foot re-enactment group. The recipe for a wonderful day!
Our thanks to everyone who made it possible!

The Sharpe Chefs came from far and wide – the US, Canada, Germany, Wales and, of course, the UK. Our Chosen Men – Jason Salkey, Lyndon Davies, Paul Trussell and Michael Mears – were the epitome of charm and kept signing away – never once asking for linament! Mick Liversidge (publisher – Pickard Communication) and Gary Mackender (designer) made the journey from Sheffield to support the event and we all got the chance to hug them for what they had done for us. Chris Clarke and Marilyn from the Sharpe Appreciation Society were there keeping the troops from the 95th (Rifles) Regiment of Foot re-enactment group, dressed in authentic costume of the times, under control! Waterstone’s did us proud and there were always people coming up to the desk having books signed – sometimes three or four at a time! Our thanks to all the people who bought the book and helped towards filling the coffers of the NOS.
Pictures will be posted soon!
We are delighted that Paul Trussell has confirmed that he will be at the signing on 19th!
For anyone who expected to see the book on ‘Cooking the Books’ today, annoyingly we were disappointed. The interview with our representative was cut from the programme, and there was only a passing glimpse of the book on the table she was sitting at. We haven’t an explanation yet, but assume other items ran over.
Still looking forward to the book signing at Waterstones in Piccadilly, London, on January 19th from 12.00 – 1.30.
