|The official launch of the Sharpe’s Children Foundation took place in the Waterloo Gallery at Apsley House on Thursday 21st October. It was a glittering occasion, supported by an officer and two enlisted men of the 95th Rifles (re-enactment group). There were many distinguished guests and the room was full of enthusiasm and passion for the foundation’s aims.
A full report will follow. In the meantime, one photo of the memorable occasion.
Due to technical problems, the video of ‘Over the Hills and Far Away’ is best seen on Youtube for the moment.

The charity launch for the Sharpe’s Children Foundation will take place Thursday night, October 21st at Number One, London, the home of the Duke of Wellington. This is especially fitting as it is on the same date as celebrations for another English hero’s victory at Trafalgar, Admiral Lord Nelson. We wish the charity and all its contributors and supporters the very best of luck and a wonderful evening.

We have just been informed that Hugh Fraser – who played Wellington in nine of the Sharpe films – will be attending the The Sharpe’s Children Foundation launch at Apsley House on October 21st next. The series’ actors are really pulling out all the stops to support this worthy cause.
