Daragh O’Malley Conquers the UK
Without a shot fired or the sweep of a sword, Daragh O’Malley – well known for his portrayal of Patrick Harper in ‘Sharpe’ – has taken the country by storm. He has been touring as Father Jack in the Brian Friel play ‘Dancing at Lughnasa’, gaining more than favourable write-ups from the press and giving interviews as he goes. Read them some of them in Cultural Quarterly Online, The Argus (Eastbourne). Morning Star (York), along with some wonderful production shots from The Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford , where I was privileged to see the production.
The sets, costumes and acting are all superb and you are drawn into an Ireland that defies the march of time.
‘Dancing at Lughnasa’ has still to reach many towns and you could be lucky enough to get tickets.
Still to come are performances at Bracknell, York, Loughborough, Huddersfield, Buxton, Durham, Southend, Yeovil, Windsor, Worthing, St Andrews and the final dates in Glasgow.
Good luck with the rest of the run, Daragh, and all the cast!
